Keith’s areas of interest are chemical education and public outreach. His work includes developing and implementing methods to improve performance in introductory chemistry, evaluating emerging technologies for their use in the classroom and for distance education, developing demonstrations of chemical phenomena, and improving strategies for training and coordination of teaching assistants. Keith has been engaged in Tuning at the state and national levels since 2009.
In 2013, Beth was selected as one of 30 communication scholars from around the country to participate in the National Communication Association’s “Student Learning Outcomes” project, which used Tuning and DQP to define learning outcomes for Communication majors at the AA, BA, and MA levels. Her areas of scholarship related to teaching include service learning/civic engagement, assessment of academic advising, and online education. Currently she is researching strategic communication practices for disseminating innovations related to teaching.
